‘Gefillde’ is a mixture of grated and pressed boiled potatoes, seasoned with salt, pepper and nutmeg and filled with fried or liver sausage. It is accompanied by either a creamy bacon sauce or sauerkraut. This Saarland speciality is also served at village and town festivals.
