Saarland marketing - Framework 2013-2017
The region and the Saar economy are set to compete for specialists and executives, investment and settlements, economic and fiscal power by way of increased immigration. In addition, the demographically induced shortage of skilled workers threatens to become a restriction on growth for the Saarland economy. To meet these challenges, the region and the Saar economy have jointly launched a new marketing strategy for a sustainable effect on the Saarland.
The regional government has delegated to saar.is leadership of the campaign development and the deployment of a wide range of instruments for promotion and communication measures. The new umbrella brand and the advertising concept was developed in conjunction with the creative partners Jung von Matt/Hamburg and the Saarland NEWKOM AG/HDW. This small federal region with its vibrant SME sector, tourist-attractive natural environment and French-inspired lifestyle is now actively advertising in order to create growth in the economy and in the population.

Get involved for better results

Saarland marketing was created from the outset as 'participative marketing'. Companies, clubs, associations, municipalities and other organisations are involved in the communication, to give Saarland marketing the necessary boost. And many are already doing so! With the help of private companies, public institutions and voluntary organisations and thanks to its residents, the Saarland will be increasing in significance and importance in the coming years. And everyone is invited to participate - whether as a Saarlander or from elsewhere.

New Saarland’s image – in a nutshell.

The key feature of future Saarland-communication is the new brand with the claim: 'Little things make a big difference.' This credo conveys sovereignty and positions the Saarland as a federal region with the trademark 'small, strong, self-confident'. The logo makes it optically clear as well. If cohesion is there, many small things will become a larger whole. Everyone is now being asked, in their area of responsibility, to make the Saarland a bit better, so that it continues to grow.

The Saarland on roadshow tour

The Saarland on roadshow tour

If professionals don’t come to us as fast as we need them, we go to them. From the beginning of May to the end of June 2015, we went on tour with a roadshow, which targeted selected regions, universities and recruitment fairs. As part of this initiative, interested parties had the opportunity to take part in a non-committal introductory talk with companies from the Saarland. Further promotional events also took place. During the roadshow, brief discussions were held with students and graduates from the Saarland. Here, too, there is a wealth of skilled personnel who we would like to keep in order to counteract the threat of a labour exodus. To this end, we are highlighting the individual and professional opportunities that our region offers in order to encourage them to stay here in the long term.
